The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of
children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich
the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The
eligibility requirements that a child must meet to have a wish
fulfilled are few and simple. The child must be referred
to the Foundation between the ages of 2 1/2 and eighteen, must
never have been granted a prior wish, and must be qualified by
their physician to have been diagnosed with a life-threatening
medical condition.
The wish may include the immediate
family. Each wish enriches the lives and uplifts the
spirits of not only the wish child and his/her family, but
everyone involved in the child's life. From the
anticipation of the wish through the actual granting of the
wish, the child feels a measure of hope, which only aides in
their treatment process. It also gives the family an
element of strength, joy and respite.
